Preserves and Jams.

My preserves and jams are all home produced using the best local ingredients and using traditional methods.

The difference between a jam and a preserve is that with jam, the fruits are broken up into a spread-able consistency, whereas with a preserve the fruits are preserved whole in their own jelly.

Strawberry Jam or Preserve

The strawberries I use are the best from Scotland. Scottish strawberries are renown for their sweetness and consistency in quality. This jam or preserve is only available during the season, (July to September), so you know I am only using the best. Fruit from abroad has no place in my kitchen.

Blackcurrant Jam

My blackcurrants are sourced from local Scottish farmers when in season, July and August. Blackcurrants are rich in vitamin C and have a high-fibre content.

Raspberry Jam or Preserve

Need I say more! Scotland is renown for its delicious raspberries and these jams and preserves are a prime example of what our beautiful countryside has to offer. My raspberries are picked fresh, in season, from Border Berries of Kelso, in the Scottish Borders.

Blackberry Jam When in season, (July to October),

I can be found picking the blackberries from the hedgerows in the Cheviot Hills. Ok, I end up with purple hands by the end of the day (!), but the taste of the jam is far superior than one made with cultivated blackberries.

All my jams and preserves are sold in 275g hexagonal jars and can be personally labelled to your liking at no extra charge
